About the event

The 3rd Annual Little Layers of Black History Gala is the signature family friendly event of the year. Co-organized by Corey and Mariah Dupree, the event has grown to serve as an inspirational gala for adults and children alike. The Layers of Black History organization hosts events that raise funds with the focus on donating diverse books to underrepresented communities across the world.

To date, we have donated over 7,000 books. Whether it has been to schools, businesses, individuals, or community based organizations, we believe that everyone ages 0-100 should have access to books that highlight characters of representation and diversity.

Come and join The Layers of Black History team for an afternoon filled with:

  • Live family friendly book readings

  • Lunch and desserts

  • STEM Activities
